𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧'𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐞 🌟
I want to share a bit about the increasingly popular "Lion's Gate Portal" that is happening today. I have mixed feelings about it. One, I'm glad that more people are tuning into this powerful peak Leo season energy. And... I have an aversion to the New Age hype about these particular dates.
I hope you are getting up early and see Venus and Jupiter in the sign of Cancer in the pre-dawn sky as that is a major source of inspiration and prosperity incoming. Venus is the principle of creativity itself no matter what sign she is in. Jupiter is expansion, benevolence, gratitude and abundance.
If you have a clear eastern view, you may possibly our brightest star, Sirius, rising as well, much lower and further to the north. Here, it's way too low for visibility.
Sirius's return to the pre-dawn sky is the focus of the Lion's Gate and connected to new year energy in ancient Egypt. Sirius is connected to many spiritual traditions and some resonate strongly with this star as part of our transformational era. But, the rise of Sirius is variable depending on where in the world you live and not connected specifically to August 8th.
From my view, if you are not taking advantage of receiving the light of the living sky, the planets and stars, into your own eyes all the time, I propose you are missing out on the real magic. Yes, you need to get up before 5 am in the Northern Hemisphere as dawn is early. And I encourage you to actually go outside. Viewing through the glass of your window is different. We want naked eyes, bare feet and open heart for maximum reception.
What I don't like about these hyped up dates is that that is puts a lot of power and emphasis on one particular day based on numbers. That can feel like an abstraction that is not connected to the cosmos. And with that focus on one day, there can be pressure and expectation - which put a damper on creative spirit.
How many people are going to do ceremonies and rituals to try to tap into this 8/8 manifestation energy and not experience the results they wish? Many. Because creation takes time in this realm. We are not magicians waving our wands on one day and, poof, creating what we wish. Not yet, anyways.
And, when we tap into our deepest hearts, we naturally want what is good for others and nature. We are not manifesting from will (which could be a shadow aspect of Leo.) What luminary connects to our deepest heart? ....Venus, of course.
The cosmic happening is happening now is that the Sun is at the halfway point of the sign of Leo - a cross quarter holiday celebrated in some places as Llammas. This is an important turn in the 8 stops of the seasonal wheel recognized by more esoteric astrologers like Dane Rudhyar who highlighted the cyclical nature of astrology. Usually it is celebrated on August 1st or 2nd but the true halfway point this year is the 7th.
This Leo energy that is peaking is big, creative, stabilizing fire. So, I guess it's not too surprising that this Lion's Gate has become so popular. Most old school seasoned astrologers don't consider it a thing. Daniel Giamario, founder of Turn of the Ages Mystery School and astrological legend, spoke to it in his latest blog and included the very New Age original channeling of 8/8 Lion's Gate by Celia Fenn in 2005. Before that, it wasn't a specific happening. I'll link that in the comments. He is a great one to follow to understand the cycles and living sky.
Also... manifestation is creation and creation is feminine. The Feminine does not work like this - a point in time. The Feminine is cyclical. There is the seeding, the gestation, the nurturing, the birth and the care of the creation. And that's why it's so powerful to sync with Venus in her 19 month cycle of Birth, Growth, Descent, Initiation and Rebirth, Growth and Maturity ove 19 months. And then that same Venus Star repeats every 8 years. It's a dance of harmonics, inviting us to attune to love and our soul frequency.
In our Venus cycle we experience a "portal" each month when Venus and the Moon meet up. In this part of her Morning Star Phase that happens in the pre-dawn sky days before the New Moon.
Why a portal? It's a moment when a leap is possible when the two feminine light bodies come together.
The Moon reflects our history, our conditioning, our reactions, who we became to survive our family and the information about what our Inner Child still needs.mThe energy of the Full Moon is know to bring unhealed emotions to the surface and can create drama, amp and overwhelm.
Emotions need to move and most of us are still learning the language of our emotions, what our bodies are telling us and how to move that emotional energy in a healthy and natural way. Anger without an object of blame is incredible vitality. Pure sadness can be exquisite.
Venus represents this primary level of feeling, a place that most living in dominator culture need to recover. Venus directs us to our deep heart beneath the story.
Venus in her relationship with the Sun represents the evolutionary feminine. This monthly portal allows us to rewrite our story and become the heroine of our own story - again and again. Venus in Cancer is teaching us about cultivating empathetic understanding. This is key to creating a new paradigm culture in this new era. Most of us are woefully lacking of this skill. With the amplification of Jupiter riding alongside Venus, it's a beautiful time to gather with others in care and connection.
Another consideration about Lion's Gate is that the numbers we use for dates are from the Gregorian calendar, which was divorced from the natural seasonal rhythm. Months named after emperors in power and what not. So, there is that dominator, power over energy embedded in our calendar system which takes away some enthusiasm for the dates of that system.
All that does not mean that we cannot tap into the excitement, joy and possibility that is available tomorrow. I would advise to resist delusion around what it all means and not to allow the amp of it to cage in your creativity to one event on one day.
These hyped up dates remind me of the tourists that descend upon a scenic spot right before sunset. Jump out of their cars to snap photos and then load up again and drive off before the full glory of the fading light has finished. And the one who has walked and communed with the land during the day and is now resting to watch the sunset that turns into the velvet night revealing the stars watches the flurry from afar. Let's aim to be more like her in our spiritual honoring.
We are in a long game of seeding the new era and creating a world of peace, care and alignment with nature. We are in the Morning Star descent time in Venus's cycle inviting us to release the false aspects of ourself to find more of the truth of our soul. The deep heart that feels is the portal to our soul self. Amazingly, our secret Venus astrology gifts us the reflection of our soul qualities.
Every day is a good day to be in authentic gratitude, be in relationship to the cosmos and the earth and walk our path of purpose and connect with others who share our values. We are learning to move together to create a more caring world that protects innocence and honors our creative intelligence. When we learn to activate our soul self and move with others in the cycle of creation, I believe we will be unstoppable. Venus is the golden key to the Age of Aquarius.
